Writing this review as I dont appreciate the way my 68 year old mother was spoken down to regarding a query. Whilst I understand this is a very stressful, busy and complex job, kindness costs nothing. Unfortunately, this review is aimed soley at one individual.

Avoid! Disorganised and unprofessional service.
I went to M&L for Conveyancing, buying a property from a family member. It should have been the easiest transaction they've done. I went through 3 solicitors after 2 resigned or were let go. Very little communication throughout, unclear answers, concerns about their slowness were ignored. Our case felt like the lowest priority for them, like their customer service. After 34 weeks of them fumbling around we had to hold off on the sale. They still had the audacity to send a bill 4 months later. Try anywhere else before going here, they aren't the local solicitors you want to use

We worked with Stephen Brown on a land transaction. Excellent all round. Prompt, communicative and proactive in chasing to complete the deal. Would highly recommend M&L and Stephen.

Feb 2021 - In addition to my previous review I have recently concluded the sale and purchase of a new home. The purchase was via auction. The service both in speed of response and depth of knowledge was first class. Sarah Baker reported back on the legal pack extremely quickly enabling me to secure the property and negotiate reasonable terms with the vendors representatives pre auction. In a sometimes fraught transaction she remained calm and very importantly available to respond to the various bumps that inevitably come up during these deals. Another 2 jobs extremely well done. Thank you very much Sarah and Team.

August 2019 - I have had 2 extremely positive experiences with Mackarness and Lunt. They did an excellent and sensitive work looking after my Mothers and Grandfathers Estate and thereafter prepared fairly complex and bespoke wills for my wife and I. This work was undertaken promptly, with high levels of professionalism and understanding for our unique needs. I would highly recommend them for Probate work and Will drafting.

If you are looking for a local, long established and friendly firm of solicitors, then stop looking now. M&L are by far the most helpful firm I have dealt with. Not only have they done my house conveyancing, sorted out my will but have also given excellent advice and support regarding divorce. I consider them to be honest, polite and compassionate. My parents and siblings have now also instructed them after my positive experiences.
