Avoid this firm at all costs. After my father passed, they lost our instructions, ignored us for months, and were condescending when chased—even charging us for the calls to find out why no work was being done. It took 18 months to handle simple pensions, and they failed to transfer the property titles correctly. The Legal Ombudsman eventually ruled that the firm caused my mother "significant harm" and ordered compensation. Ludicrous fees for such poor service over £3000.

Unfortunately I found Heckford & Norton very unhelpful. I needed a small piece of information regarding a Deed of Variation that they undertook for me (& charged handsomely for) but they refused to help me - insisting that I come in & would be charging £300 per hour.
I explained that I was calling from Australia so couldn’t make an in person appointment, but they said they couldn’t help me.
It’s particularly disappointing as they have been our family solicitors for many decades: my mother even worked in their office in the 1950s.

Amazing service by Cerise (Letchworth Branch). Cerise helped me in producing a Pre-Auction Pack for a property I had fully intended to bid on. Cerise went above and beyond in explaining the Auction process and even offered to hand deliver the Pre-Auction Pack to my door. This was my first time going through the Auction Process to which I now feel far more confident in. Communication was amazing throughout and Cerise was always on hand to answer any questions or queries I had.

Unfortunately due to property restrictions I decided not to bid on the property, however I will defiantly be using Heckford Norton in the future.

Fantastic service by Caroline Selley. Supported my mother set up her Will via the Free Wills Service. Caroline was clear, concise, supportive and answered our many questions - and made it all really easy to understand in the process!
