We worked with Marielyne Butler at Fellowes Solicitors when we bought our flat six years ago, and we didn’t hesitate to use her again for the sale of that flat and the purchase of our new home.
Marielyne has been fantastic throughout the entire process. She dealt with everything promptly and professionally, even when there were delays caused by late enquiries. She was always responsive, kept us regularly updated, and made what can be a very stressful process feel much more manageable.
We’re very grateful for all her hard work and support, and wouldn’t hesitate to use Marielyne and Fellowes Solicitors again in the future.

Mike and Patrick were brilliant solicitors for my flat purchase. They were diligent and detailed and really explained the process to me as a first time buyer. They were very prompt at updating me on issues and keeping me informed on progress. Would definitely recommend!

AVOID IF YOU CAN. Incompetent, slow and unresponsive. You’re better off going elsewhere.
Similar to the reviewer below, I completed a sale / conveyancing using Fellowes two years ago and only discovered upon remortgaging this year that they had not made an application to Land Registry notifying them of the sale. This is a massive oversight as I was essentially paying a mortgage on a property I didn’t technically own.
After contacting them multiple times I managed to get through, they made some poor excuses that they had follow up questions with the freeholder that hadn’t been responded to (I highly doubt this). Seems like it’s an excuse that they’re using for other similar instances. The partner on the case hasn’t even had the decency to correspond with me, she’s fobbed me off to her trainee solicitor.
Marielyne Butler - you should be ashamed of yourself.
Very disappointing experience that does not uphold the SRA principles.

We had Claire Saygili working on our recent property purchase and sale and she was fantastic. Calm, considered and very reliable - our conveyance was quite lenghty and protracted with a lot of queries raised along the way, but Claire dealt with them all very professionally and she was always responsive on email. Have heard nightmares about unresponsive conveyancing solicitors but glad to say this wasn't one of those instances. Would happily use Fellowes again for conveyancing.

I purchased my first property through Fellowes solicitors in May 2023. As I write this in May 2025, I am still awaiting my purchase to be registered with Land Registry. Despite chasing them several times by email and on the phone, I am just offered balderdash and piffles, like…. “After reviewing your application with HM Land Registry, I can confirm that it is still being processed. They have raised one additional requisition, which I have now addressed. I anticipate that the application will be completed shortly, most likely by the end of next week. I will provide an update and forward your registration documents as soon as I receive further correspondence from HM Land Registry.”….. those next weeks have come and long gone but the the registration of my property is still outstanding.
They still owe me £30 which I doubt very much will ever be returned, not because they want to keep it but just for the sheer lack of care.
I have since completed the purchase of a different property, through another solicitor, and the whole process took 3 months. Today, after 4 months since completion, I have already received confirmation of the registration of the second property being completed with Land Registry. What a difference it makes when your affairs are handled by an organised set of professionals.
