Back in 2023, my husband was trapped in the war in Sudan while I was about to give birth to our first child. His passport was at the British Embassy for visa processing so that he could be with me for the birth. Then, within just a few days, the situation escalated and all embassies were evacuated from Khartoum. I was devastated and completely helpless, not knowing how to bring my husband home safely.
