GILROY STEEL SOLICITORS LIMITED

Should have been a simple transfer of equity with both parties agreed on the amount.
Poor communication, slow to act. Made an already stressful situation worse. Passed between several different people. Wouldn't recommend using these solicitors.

We recently used Anne-Marie at Gilroy Steel for both the sale of our old home and the purchase of our new one, and the experience was excellent from start to finish.

Between myself, Gilroy Steel, and our estate agents, I genuinely felt we had the best team in the chain. As with any move, there were a few bumps and delays along the way, but Anne-Marie and her team were always just a phone call or an email away, ready to update us and keep things moving forward.

Their professionalism, responsiveness, and friendly approach made what can be a stressful process so much smoother. I would definitely recommend them to anyone buying or selling a property.

Pointless to go into full detail as nothing will change from it, but Gilroy Steel should know they are slow, incompetent, and un-trustworthy. It's completely in my belief, this solicitor has just cost us our dream.

From communications we saw from our solicitor along the way, the person acting for my buyers (You know who you are) was at times clueless, confused and made matters sound 100% worse than they actually were. The 'Issue' was known to my buyers from the get go and I strongly believe that this solicitor was over-zealous and over-exaggerated the point to my buyer. I do also believe she wanted to 'get one over' on my solicitor, as she believed the 'issue' wasn't properly investigated when I purchased the property, which is completely false. The lack of common sense or trying to come to a mutual agreement was just aired.

I strongly advise people to avoid using this solicitor.

Debating the Ombudsmen and legal action.

No doubt, I will have a reply on here from some highchair sitting conveyancer denying all this but that's irrelevant. We know what truly happened.

(UPDATED - 02.02.2025 - Obviously touched a nerve! - I see your pathetic reply, Gilroy Steel below - We never tried to sell property 'We did not own'. This was known to your client from day one and was even in the property advert. It's clear from all documentation provided to you, this was never included in the sale, as we never claimed we owned it! If you did your research and weren't confused and clumsy, you'd of known too!! You're an embarrassment of a firm and your reply shows how petty, unprofessional and poor you are. Best of luck with disappointing people in the future)
