If you are looking for a conveyancing company that would cut corners and do the process quick and dirty with potential for future issues – don’t use Owen Paulo.
However, if you are looking for conveyancers that would help with a shared ownership purchase, go above and beyond to get everything right the first time, and provide all the necessary documents and detailed overview of the process, I would consider them.
Laura, Nicola, Barry, and Hannah all helped the process to be smooth and did their best to have our backs. The process did take longer than we expected, but that was mostly due to the seller’s solicitors being difficult to deal with (expecting an immediate response to an email sent at 4:55pm, ghosting everyone - including the seller - for a couple of days etc.).
We got the recommendation from another conveyancer due to Owen Paulo’s expertise and experience with resales of shared ownership, and we’re glad that we chose them.
The only improvement that I’d suggest is to maybe have a part on the website where you could follow the process along, see which documents have been received and which ones are still being waited on.

We would absolutely recommend Owen Paulo Legal to anyone looking for a solicitor. Each department of their team really was second to none and did an outstanding job. From day one they were extremely informative, gave regular updates, responded in a timely manner, gave their full attention and support throughout, were very professional in every aspect and detail of their job and altogether provided an amazing service for us. They had a very competitive price too which was a bonus. Thankyou to all members of the team and to each department, they gave us true confidence, it was a relief knowing all was at hand and how they were easily contactable if needed.

Chris and Eleanor helped me with my shared ownership purchase and I couldn’t recommend them more! They got us to the point of exchange where all the legal work was completed within about 3 months, however we didn’t exchange and complete for another 2 months due to EWS1 issues (completely out of their control)! Through all the stress they were there to answer all my questions and help me along the way. They were very supportive, helpful and efficient. Owen Paulo was very easy and simple to use with competitive pricing (especially for Building Safety Act!). I definitely will be using them again for staircasing.

I took the recommendation for Owen Paulo from my fellow neighbour who sold her SO flat, and it was the best thing I did in the whole buying/selling journey.
Phoebe (alongside Lauryn) and Emily were a fantastic team, and I couldn’t be more grateful for their support with the sale of my SO flat and our freehold purchase with my partner. The legal report was fantastic, the information really easy to understand and communication throughout was easy with little to no chasing (most of the chasing was due to being in a sales chain and estate agents!). I didn’t waver in my confidence for them to act on my behalf and best interests.
My only gripe - and why I won’t award 5 stars - is the compliance team came across as disorganised and this was disappointing. I explained to them 3/4 times Owen Paulo acted for my sale and purchase, and I was chased for proof of sale several times and being in a sales chain, despite my own solicitor being involved. Before final sign off, I was then chased again when it was addressed months before. It was acknowledged later no further action required.
I work in financial crime myself so I understand the need for checks and balances, but I do feel this was the only part that let the journey down and I say this as constructive feedback, and not as a means to be dismissive.
Overall, I’ve recommended Owen Paulo to my fellow friend who is selling their SO flat in the coming months and I’d happily go back if I needed to. All I can say is we’re beyond grateful for their help and we’re happily in our new home.

Lucy/Caroline at Owen Paulo have been absolutely amazing in supporting us while buying our first home. We were warned that solicitors would be the hardest part, and I’ve got to say it was by far the easiest part of the process.
They always responded to us in a timely way, helped us understand the language around property purchase and we’re both extremely helpful and communicative throughout.
