We were referred by the estate agents for the sale (no issues at all) and subsequent purchase of our new home. Trying to get answers from the solicitor was a nightmare, their poor receptionist could not answer the questions I had, callbacks were only received when they wanted information/decisions from me. I was constantly chasing updates that should have been automated. Completed almost a year ago then disputed the bill and requested explanations and ended up having to complain to get the required answers as no replies to requests. Finally get it sorted almost a year after completion but only because I chased it. Would not recommend and only gave 2 stars because of the hard work the solicitors receptionist put in.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Avoid
I would strongly advise anyone considering Cygnet Law or David Medd to think very carefully before instructing them, particularly for something as serious as a family court matter involving your child.
I initially instructed David Medd to represent me in my family court proceedings regarding contact with my one-year-old daughter. He appeared in court for me on several occasions, so I naturally expected continuity and support through to the final hearing, which is the most important stage of the entire case.
However, when it came to arranging representation for the final hearing, my messages, emails and phone calls to the office were completely ignored. Despite repeated attempts to make contact, I received no response or communication. This left me in an extremely difficult position only days before the final hearing.
As a result, I was forced into the position of either representing myself or trying to urgently find a new legal representative who had no knowledge of the case at such a late stage.
For anyone who has been through family court, you will understand how stressful and serious this situation is, particularly when the outcome directly affects your child’s future.
For context, I have no criminal record and there were no safeguarding findings against me. The case involved responding to unfounded allegations made by an ex-partner, which made it even more important to have proper legal representation and communication.
Another concern was that during the process he mentioned that he had previously worked with the opposing solicitor. When I was later unable to get any response from him regarding the final hearing, it left me with the strong impression that he simply did not want to go up against her in court. Whether that was the reason or not, the complete lack of communication at such a critical moment was unacceptable.
Being left completely in the dark at the most important stage of a case involving your child shows a serious lack of professionalism, responsibility and basic communication.
When someone entrusts you with a case about their child and their future, the minimum expectation is reliability and transparency. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Cygnet Law.
I cannot recommend their services based on what happened to me, and I hope sharing my experience helps others avoid being placed in the same position.

Was recommended one of the solicitors within the company, messaged her with no reply, contacted the main number and was allocated a solicitor, mine is conveyancing, they have had to do very little work as it’s an auction purchase with no mortgage, my friend who uses them is charged £600 but I have been charged £900, don’t answer basic emails half the time and give incorrect responses, if their is a next time would use a specialist conveyancing company, wouldn’t use again.

From the very start Theresa was so easy to work with, she was the perfect balance between being friendly and professional and answered all of my questions. The process was very fast and smooth and nothing was too much trouble. I even got a personal call from her to confirm completion which was a really lovely touch.
Thank you so much to Theresa and team.

Gemma Brooke and her team, are exceptional in dealing with complex probate issues. I came to them disempowered and left with the outcome I wanted. Access to the legal secretaries was simple and effective, they delivered what they said they would and kept Gemma up to date. Gemma was highly professional, listened and gave amazing advise. Her team was a rock in my hard place. Thank you.
