As a first-time foreign buyer, this experience with Franklins Solicitors has been an absolute nightmare and incredibly stressful. When we first started, we were completely upfront about having gifted money from abroad and provided all the necessary explanations and documents. If they couldn't handle overseas documents, they never should have taken our case and accepted our money in the first place it feels like they just want your upfront fees and nothing else.
For three days straight, I tried contacting my conveyancer, but reception would just transfer me to a dead end or promise a callback that never happened. After days of being ignored and left completely in the dark and our mortgage application ready to be processed with our advisors, franklins suddenly emailed out of the blue to say they "cannot continue to work on our matter" due to internal compliance, offering zero real explanation.
Completely unprofessional treatment of clients, and a massive waste of precious time for first-time buyers. Avoid if you want reliable support.
